A Special Moment for 7th Grade

Davis Academy 7^th Grade Students each received their own special Tanach (Hebrew Bible) in a special ceremony today in the Kaufman Chapel. During the ceremony they did two things: 1) write their Hebrew name and 2) mark their Bar/Bat Mitzvah portion. The Tanachim will be used during 7^th and 8^th grade Jewish Studies and great care was made to select a Tanach that has lots of additional resources to aid with this ongoing study. 

 At the end of the ceremony the students carried their Tanachim with them back to the Middle School—a symbolic gesture of how this sacred book will journey with them through life. Mazal tov to 7th grade and todah rabah to Moreh Sim Pearl for organizing the ceremony!
