A Blessing for Grandparents and Special Friends Day

Today, The Davis Academy had the honor of welcoming hundreds of grandparents and special friends for a day of learning and celebration. Below are words of blessing that were shared during our Middle School ceremony. Our children are truly blessed to be surrounded by a large and loving family and extended family. In turn, we are blessed to be surrounded by them! 

Dear God,

Source of life, source of blessing, source of miracles.

We thank you for granting us the ability to witness and experience miracles.

The miracles of love and family,

of children and grandchildren,

of a chain of tradition that extends across the generations.

The miracles of growth and transformation,

Of learning and discovery,

of wisdom sown into the hearts and souls of those we love.

The miracles of community and friendship,

of connection and celebration,

that evoke for us the deepest feelings of gratitude and thanksgiving.

On this grandparents and special friends day,

help us to see the profound in the simple,

to hear the sweetness in the song,

and to see the dreams made real,

in the eyes of the precious children

that we love with all our hearts.
