Mr. Blue Jeans

5th graders wore blue jeans to raise awareness about their partnership with Camp Jenny. What do blue jeans have to do with Camp Jenny? 5th grader read the book, Mr. Blue Jeans, which chronicles the life of Levi Strauss. As it turns out, in addition creating one of the most successful clothing companies of all time, Mr. Strauss was a passionate philanthropist-- supporting a variety of charitable causes in his community. As 5th grade students study the story of a Jewish immigrant who went from "rags to riches" and then used his success to make the world a better place, they consider their role in helping to bring joy to children who are less fortunate here in Atlanta through Camp Jenny.
