First Grade Chanukiah Project

Every year 1st Graders and their parents come together to make very special Chanukiot. What makes the Chanukiot special is that they represent a combination of the traditional Chanukiah with the unique personality and interests of the child. While the final results are invariably beautiful and inspiring it's the fundamental message that makes this such an important project. That message is that Judaism, like life, is what we make of it. When we are able to find authentic connections between Jewish holidays and traditions and our own lives and interests then we are able to build Jewish experiences that will surely lead to a lifetime of Jewish creativity and commitment.
